Will of The Broke Backpacker I sought a tattoo from Whang Od, the last living Mambabatok, a ninety seven year old tattoo master living in the jungle clad mountains of The Philippines. I received a fern, a symbol of youth and fertility. To be tattooed by Whang Od was a truly special experience, I felt honoured to have been welcomed into the village and to leave with a permanent memento of my time spent there.

Fiona of A Travellin' Tale I started looking into traditional navigation and compass style tattoos and began to get a picture in my head of something that would not only mark my previous travels but also act as a reminder anytime I felt like my direction was a little less than clear (which seems to be quite a lot) that there are many more journeys to come.

Nadine of Travel with Papino The tattoo has been in my mind for about 5 years during a lot of my travels. The city is Prague and the scene looking at Charles Bridge which was one of the most amazing scenes I have ever laid eyes on! It's a work in progress, but eventually will be one big, happy travel story! 🙂

Matthew of Expert Vagabond For Sak Yant tattoos, monks will often choose a sacred design as well as the location of your tattoo based on your aura. Mine is the Gao Yord, or 9 Spire. A powerful and sacred tattoo that protects the wearer from violent physical attacks and magic assaults. It’s also supposed to bring good luck.

Monica of We Travel Together In 2014 we decided to get us some new tattoos [Monica and her fiancé, Jon], and we both wanted some inspired by travel. I wanted a compass that is not only travel related but also the definition of life; which direction to choose!

Jessie of Jessie on a Journey Is there any better symbol of freedom and flight then birds? I think not. As a traveler, I like to think that I’m like a bird, spreading my wings and taking off for the next destination, always on the move. That’s how I love to live my life.

Marnie of Marnie Travels I got a plane traveling around an infinity symbol to remind me to never stop exploring, learning, craving new experiences.

Amber of With Husband in Tow I got my With Husband in Tow logo as my travel tattoo. It is a perfectly unique symbol of what I love: food, Asia, and travel.
